After being picked up at your hotel, you will ride in comfort through the sites of the modern capital city on your way to the Colonial City or "Casco Antiguo." Built in 1673 this neighborhood is home to amazing old world Spanish architecture. Experience the history and heritage of Panama City as you pass through Plaza Francia, Las Bovedas, San Jose Church, with its wonderful gold altar, the Flat Arch, and Cathedral Church. It is here that the French workers, lead by Ferdinand de Lesseps, initiated the Panama Canal project of the Panama Canal and you will notice that the surrounding homes are built in a French style of architecture.
Lunch Stop
Afterwards, you will make a visit to the ruins of Old Panama City, which were destroyed by pirate Henry Morgan in 1671. The Panama Canal Interoceanic Museum is located here as well as the Palacio de las Garzas, the official office of the Panamanian president. You will then ride through the enchanted Balboa area and admire the Panama Canal Administration Building on a hill before heading to the Miraflores Locks. Here you will have the chance to see huge shipping vessels transiting through the locks of the Panama Canal. Our tour includes a visit to the new Visitor’s Center to see canal memorabilia and watch an informative video about the construction of the canal. Finally we will take you to the Amador Causeway, a chain of three islands that offers incredible views of the city. You will also have time to purchase handicrafts and electronics from the Duty Free store. Transportation is provided back to your hotel in the afternoon.
The order of the visits will be set in accordance to the big ships daily schedule of transiting the locks.

Also here the French workers, leaded by Ferdinand de Lesseps that initiated the project of the Panama Canal, had their homes some built with French architecture. The Panama Canal Inter-oceanic Museum is located here as well as the Palacio de las Garzas, the Panamas President official office. You will ride to the enchanted Balboa area, which is a residential area of the former Panama Canal Zone, now reverted to Panama. Admire the Panama Canal Administration Building on a hill and then head to Miraflores Locks where we will have the chance to see the vessels while transiting the Locks. Includes visit to the new Visitors Center to see memorabilia canal related items and to watch the Panama Canal Commission audiovisual prepared where the operation of this important Inter-oceanic waterway is explained. Finally we will take you to the Amador Causeway, a man made connection of three islands, with an strong tourist development and from where you will have a breathtaking view of the city and have time to purchase from handicrafts to electronics in Duty Free stores.
