OLD MONTRÉAL — Enjoy a journey through time when you visit Old Montréal, nestled between the St Lawrence Seaway and the downtown skyscrapers. The old town was founded in 1642 and is a main attraction for visitors and locals alike. You will find Notre Dame Basilica in this part of the city. The Basilica was built in 1824 and is one of the most impressive landmarks in the world. Its original stained glass windows paint a story of Montréal’s religious history, and it holds a majestic interior. The district is full of boutiques, galleries and restaurants.
OLYMPIC STADIUM — Created for the Summer Olympic Games in 1976, the stadium is truly an architectural masterpiece. Integrated into the base is the tallest inclined tower in the world. This is 539 feet tall (165m) and angled at 45°. The Olympic Park is full of attractions, such as the Montreal Botanical Gardens, Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium and the Biodome.
MOUNT ROYAL PARK LOOKOUT — This enchanting park offers an impressive view of the city below. From here, you’ll see downtown Montréal, the St Lawrence River and much more. Mount Royal Park has provided many outdoor activities for more than 100 years and is full of chalets, cafés and excellent places to dine.
SAINT JOSEPH’S ORATORY — This church is an Italian Renaissance-style basilica in the center of Mount Royal. It’s the largest in Canada and is dedicated to the country’s patron saint. Its founder, Brother André had performed many miracles from a small church here in the early 1900s. Today, millions of visitors still come to visit. Brother André was the first Canadian canonized in 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI.
