“To embrace sharp harmony and historic curiosities in the most sacred site of İstanbul”
Eyüp Sultan Mosque and Tomb are the most sacred sites in the world, after Mecca and Jerusalem, and thousands of people visit everyday. Eyüp-El-Ensari was the flagbearer of Prophet Mohammed and died in Istanbul during the Arabic siege of the city in the 7th century. The old trees, pigeons, praying believers and the visiting crowds create a mystical and colorful atmosphere around the mosque.
After our visit to the Eyüp Sultan Mosque, we will ride in a cable car to the Pierre Loti Coffee House, situation amongst the lush greenery on a hill with beautiful trees where you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the Golden Horn. The cable car provides a bird’s eye view of the Golden Horn while climbing to the café, rising 550 meters in 115 seconds. The coffee house takes its name from Pierre Loti, the French author and poet who was very fond of Istanbul and wrote as he sat in this coffee house while enjoying the view.
Then we will visit Miniatürk, “a story land” where exhibiting scaled models of famous architecture, creating a fairy tale environment of İstanbul, Anatolia and the former Ottoman territories. The park reflects the revival of Turkish culture and history in all its magnificence while portraying the lifestyle of the society throughout ages.
