Rio’s highest peak, Pico da Tijuca (1022m – 3353ft) is located in the middle of the Tijuca Forest, and overlooks most of the city. Before the hiking, we will stop by the entrance of the national park to visit a gigantic and beautiful waterfall. The track starts at the idyllic Bom Retiro and lasts no more than one and a half hours. From there, we have a wonderful view to most of Tijuca Forest’s landmarks, besides the Maracanã and Engenhão stadiums, Guanabara Bay and a lot more.
