This incredible tour offers an unforgettable view formed by the immense group of waterfalls of Foz do Iguaçu. Once inside the park, the van or bus will drive until you reach the trails and walkways that face the falls. We will walk from 40 minutes to 1 hour on the trails and walkways facing the falls on the Brazilian side and with panoramic views of the Argentine side.
After the pick up at your hotel, get ready for spectacular landscapes.
Nothing in the world of water compares to, or is more impressive than the natural spectacle provided by the stunning group of 275 waterfalls that make up the Iguassu Waterfalls.
Located a few kilometers from the union of the Iguassu River with the Paraná River, the waterfalls takes you to a state of awe with their size, water flow and strong current.
The geologic change that gave birth to the Iguassu Waterfalls took place nearly 150 million years ago and shook the earth crust around the globe. At the Iguassu region those changes created a gigantic canyon, full of rock steps through which the grand Iguassu flows, producing a huge steam cloud and a deafening sound.
The average flow of the Waterfalls is around 1.800 m3 per second, for an average amount of 10 million liters per second. During the rain season, the stream of the Iguassu River increases and shows an even more beautiful spectacle.
The biggest waterfall is the “Devils Throat”, which is 90 meters high. The volume of water poured down creates a cloud of drizzling water that can be watched from kilometers away.
You can add options to make this experience even better:
Panoramic Helicopter Flight - 10 minutes approximately:
Thrilling, informative, this helicopter flight gives a completely different and unique perspective of the spectacular waterfalls.
Macuco - Floating Safari:
Ecological trails, canyons, wild animals and a spectacular view. Iguassu Falls are some of the things you´ll encounter during this unforgettable excursion through the Iguassu National Park.
The adventure begins at the entrance to the Macuco Safari, located 25 kilometer down Cataratas Highway inside Iguassu National Park. Board open jeep-towed wagons that allow for an unobstructed view of the scenery along the trail. During the stretch of three kilometers through the jungle, multi-lingual guides will point out examples of the flora and fauna of the Park.
Orchids, palm trees, bromeliads, centenarian trees, and even wild animals that occasionally cross the trail are pointed out by the guides.
The hike is the second stage of our journey. On a stretch of 600 meters, is a hike on a trail that leads to a waterfall called "Macuco Falls" (optional). The waterfall - perfect for a refreshing dip on hot days - spills down from a height of approximately 20 meters. Access is via a stairway carved into the ancient rock. The last stop is the Macuco Safari docks on the Brazilian side of the Iguassu River.
In the water, inflatable bi-motor boats await us. They´re constructed to withstand the rigors of the excursion, as well as being secure and efficient vessels. Before embarkation, passengers receive life-vests and plastic containers in which to protect photographic and filming equipment. The boat travels up-river passing the canyon facing the rapids at a speed that allows for scenic viewing.
Rocks, animals and ample amounts of greenery complete the scenery until the base of the Falls is reached, next to the "great horseshoe" know as the "Devils Throat".
Enjoy a waterfall shower. Rainbows, blue sky, mist and water in abundance, punctuate the spectacle whose high-point is the "The Three Musketeers". Here the captain maneuvers the boat in order to get close enough to provide the passengers with a quick and refreshing shower. Since at the end of the fun everyone normally ends-up wet, passengers more sensitive to cold should make sure to bring extra clothing to use after the boat excursion.
Comfortable shoes and clothing are highly recommended.
