In the morning, you will catch up nice views from Rio’s charming beaches. As you stroll through Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana you’ll hear all about these beaches. After that, head to Botafogo neighborhood where Sugar Loaf stands. But before your visit, we will head to the Downtown to learn a bit more about Rio’s History, passing by the Guanabara Palace, the famous Rio Sambodrome, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where we have a stop.
After a brief visit, we will make our way to Urca and Sugar Loaf. There you will catch some of the best views in Rio. Some locals might argue that it is the best view of Rio.
You will travel all the way to the top in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill, a vantage point 215 meters high for which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, Flamengo and Botafogo beaches, Santos Dummont Airport, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Urca’s neighborhood and Corcovado Mountain.
From up there, you will have no trouble understanding why Rio is nicknamed “Wonderful City”. After some time allowed up there, you will head down to an all-you-can-eat-style barbecue house (if option selected). Brazilian Churrascarias (Barbecue places) offer a wide variety of sides and alternative options, in case you decide to stick with a vegetarian option, you will still leave delighted. If you choose the option without lunch, our guide will offer a variety of nearby suggestions that can fit any budget or taste!
After lunch, you will take a van ride to Santa Teresa, a neighborhood where laid-backness and tradition meet. But it also brings you street art, such as the amazing Selaron Steps. The beautiful steps done in ceramic by artist Jorge Selarón are one of a kind. You will have about 10 minutes or so to contemplate it .
From Selaron Steps, we will leave by van up through the Tijuca National Park. Where we will arrive at the park’s visitor center. From there we’ll make our way up to the statue where we will spend some time enjoying the views from one of the world’s most famous landmark.
