If by some misfortune, you don’t happen to be in Rio during Carnaval, there still a way to experience the thrill of Samba. Throughout the year, there are open Samba rehearsals in the Schools’ Courtyard where they practice for the greatest show on Earth. It is called “practice”, but is hardly practice; it is more of a musical Tour de Force.
The display of musicianship and the technical prowess is astounding, but it is delivered so effortlessly that it almost makes it seem easy!
So let the rhythms set the tone for the evening. The synchrony and the power of the drums will give you Goosebumps and in no time, you will be dancing and singing like a local. This is probably the closest you’ll get to the emotion of participating in a parade. Party is all around you!
See what Samba is really all about: Living life with excitement, good people, good food and Happiness above all.
