Live this unique experience in life! Walk for 3 hours and a half on the Perito Moreno Glacier. Discover sinkholes and internal lagoons of the glacier, walk through the Patagonian forest and let yourself be amazed by this incredible landscape.
This unmissable experience begins in the “Bajo de las sombras” port, within the Los Glaciares National Park. There you will take a boat to cross the Brazo Rico, to the west coast. Once crossed, the guides will receive you to give you some details of the activity and will separate you into groups of 10 people. In the refuge that is located there, you will be able to leave some of your belongings, as well as make use of the bathrooms.
You will start the trail through the Patagonian-Magellanic Andean forest. After two hours of walking, you will arrive at the southern moraine of the Perito Moreno glacier, where you will access the ice. Before going up to the glacier, you will have enough time to enjoy lunch (food is not included and there is no place to buy it, so it must be brought directly from El Calafate).
Once on the glacier, the world takes on a new perspective: blue lagoons, deep crevasses, huge sinkholes, magical caves, and the unique sensation of being in the center of the glacier.
During the 3 and a half hours (approximately) of the tour, the guides will help you to better understand the ice and its environment: the origin of the glaciers and the characteristics of the area.
Being a demanding walk, on an irregular but firm surface, it can only be done by people between 18 and 50 years old, due to their physical level. Neither can pregnant women or people with reduced mobility, arthritis, prostheses, knee problems, meniscus problems, overweight people, or people with heart problems.
Once back in the moraine, you will retrace your steps through the Magellanic forest for 2 hours to take the boat back, which sails very close to the southern wall of the glacier. You can also enjoy the view of Perito Moreno from the walkways: another way to see and appreciate its immensity.
The Big Ice takes place in a natural environment, so the climatic conditions and characteristics of the glacier and its surroundings change daily. This allows us to enjoy unrepeatable experiences in the most beautiful glacier in the world!
IMPORTANT: Only suitable for people between 18 and 50 years of age Difficulty: Moderate - It requires good Physical condition
