Daydreaming about Venice’s charming water canals, sunsets and historic multi-colored buildings?
Set off with us on a day trip to Venice and reach Europe’s most romantic city in just a few hours by high-speed train!
One of our tour leaders will be with you all the way from Termini train station to make sure you arrive in the city without any complications. You will get escorted to the platform and on board, he/she will explain the highlights of Venice so that you do not feel disoriented and can move around freely. You will reach Venice in little more than 3 hours.
You will get to Venezia Santa Lucia railway station to reach a vaporetto stop (dock), just outside of the station, and enjoy your one ride ticket for the Venetian typical public transport, the waterbus, which you will included in this package (your tour leader will hand it to you). It will be an unmissable opportunity to get a first glimpse of a city that offers breathtaking views, with its historic buildings and beautiful church façades; its piers and hundreds of gondolas gently skimming the placid waters of the lagoon; the inhabitants and tourists, busily engaged in their respective days...
After getting off the vaporetto and a two-minute walk, you will reach St. Mark’s Square, heart and soul of Venice’s historical centre: from the waterfront, turn left and breathe in the magnificence of the western façade of St. Mark's Basilica.
Did you know that what really makes Venice a unique city in the world are the 118 islands that dot its lagoon, but also the more than 400 bridges that cross its canals?
From St. Mark's Square, simply venture through its narrow, romantic alleys (called calli) to lose yourself in the authentic charm of this magical city: take the opportunity to go shopping or to sip a good Italian coffee in one of the historic venues in the center, why not, perhaps sitting at the tables outside.
You definitely cannot miss the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri), among the city's most beloved locations and a source of highly popular Instagram shots!
On the way back to the railway station, you will find your tour leader there, but it does not end there!
We thought we would give you a few more precious minutes in Venice and to enrich them with a fantastic aperitivo, or cicchetto, as the locals call it: a mix of small savory side dishes typically served in the so-called bàcari and accompanied by the famous Venetian Spritz.
What better way to relax and recharge your batteries before heading back towards the Eternal City?
