The Victoria tour was as good as it could be, but 8 hours of travel for 4 hours of touring isn’t a great idea. Anthony is as good a tour guide as you could ever ask for - he’s informative, funny (but not too funny), competent, and most importantly, he’s considerate - he treats everyone on the tour like his best friend, and goes out of his say to make the tour work for everyone. Pretty amazing - they should double his pay to make sure he never quits.Quick tips - bring a charging cord for your smartphone. It’s a long day, but there are USB ports on the bus and on the ferry. I would not recommend the Butchart Garden tour for the winter (we went in late October), as fully half the garden was bereft of any flowers (and 2 of the 5 gardens had zero flowers). Take advantage of the hotel pickup if it works for your schedule; very convenient.
