Warner Bros. Studio Tour London provides an amazing new opportunity to explore the magic of the Harry Potter™ films – the most successful film series of all time. This unique walking tour takes you behind-the-scenes and showcases a huge array of beautiful sets, costumes and props. It also reveals some closely guarded secrets, including facts about the special effects and animatronics that made these films so hugely popular all over the world.
Platform 9 ¾ and Hogwarts Express
Step onto Platform 9 ¾ and venture inside the original Hogwarts Express steam engine! This permanent exhibit gives visitors the chance to climb aboard the train’s carriage and pose with a luggage trolley as it disappears through the platform wall. Scenes featuring the working train were shot at the Studios, including the iconic last scene in which a grown up Harry, Ron and Hermione wave their own children off to Hogwarts as they leave for school.
Gringotts Wizarding Bank
Enter the all new Gringotts Wizarding Bank on Diagon Alley and discover the magical treasures within. Step into Bellatrix Lestrange’s vault to find the Sword of Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup, one of Voldemort’s many Horcruxes, before taking a unique photo surrounded by thousands of pieces of magical treasure…unless the goblins find you first!
Discovering Hogwarts (2nd May – 4th September 2023)
Celebrating its 11th year, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is inviting visitors to explore Harry’s early years at Hogwarts with some of their favourite scenes. For the first time since filming, over 400 floating candles will adorn the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall, giving visitors a chance to step into the set just as the cast would have seen it during Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
During the feature, fans will be welcomed into a new set depicting the iconic scene in which a young Harry, Ron and Hermione learn to master Wingardium Leviosa in Professor Flitwick’s Charms class. The filmmaking secrets behind the floating feathers will be revealed and fans will also have the chance to practice the spell.
Among the many interactive experiences, fans will see a live demonstration of how half-giant Hagrid was brought to life and get hands on by creating an origami ‘Sorting Ceremony’ chatterbox to take away, as well as taking a seat in a new photo opportunity depicting Harry’s first boat journey to Hogwarts.
Discover the Dark Arts 15th September – 5th November 2023
Step into the iconic sets from the Harry Potter film series in a spookier setting as we dim the lights and set the stage especially for Hallowe’en. Here’s a taster of what you can expect to see during your visit…
Experience Hallowe’en as if you were a Hogwarts student, by stepping into the Great Hall with over 100 pumpkins floating above a spooky feast, as seen in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. During filming, the Prop making Team carved the pumpkins each to have their own unique design. The symbol of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters will be projected throughout the Studio Tour for you to discover during your visit. Remember to collect your Studio Tour passport upon arrival to join the hunt for the Dark Mark.
Look out for the Death Eaters’ procession through the Studio Tour in a menacing display, showcasing the authentic costumes seen on-screen. Get ready to learn wand combat moves in an interactive display with Paul Harris before joining forces to practise your spells on Death Eaters. Paul was the Wand Choreographer from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 and describes the importance of wand combat as a ‘physical element to casting a spell, because otherwise what makes one wizard better than another?’
Hogwarts in the snow 11th November 2023 – 14th January 2024
2023 will conclude with the return of the Studio Tour’s beloved Hogwarts in the Snow feature.
Starting at the Great Hall, bedecked in the gold decorations from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, all the way through to Hogwarts castle model, fan-favourite sets throughout the Studio Tour will be displayed in their festive finery. Learn the secrets behind ice that never melts and fire that doesn’t burn and see a blanket of filmmaking snow covering the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley and the magnificent Hogwarts castle model.
